Whited’s Produce
Ed Whited is an urban farmer, a disabled veteran and a senior citizen. He grows vegetables on a 1/4 acre “Farmette” in the Tijuana River Valley County Park Community Garden at 2100 Hollister St, San Diego, CA. Ed is a Registered Organic farmer with the county of San Diego. Where appropriate, he uses no till, low till farming practices in coordination with water conservation. He uses drip irrigation, timers and locally obtained mulch to minimize water usage. Ed has an effective composting program and use compost to increase soil fertility. Most of my infrastructure is made from recycled or reused materials and equipment. He reconditions and uses antique wheel hoes and seeders, some of which are a century old.
